Then those who feared the Lord talked often one to another; and the Lord listened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who reverenced and worshipfully feared the Lord and who thought on His name.
And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure). And I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.
Malachi 3:16-17 (Amplified Bible)
I remember one of the greatest promises that I discovered soon after coming to Jesus for salvation. My mom told me that my name was written in the Book of Life. She also told me my name could never be erased. In my five-year-old mind, I imagined God the Father with a long, gray beard and bifocals sitting down at a desk and asking for the Book of Life to be brought to Him. I imagined Him looking for my name on the day I passed into eternity. I could see my name written on the page in my mind’s eye.
My perspective has changed quite a bit since then on that scenario. But it wasn’t until just a few years ago that my mother once again told me about another book that heaven keeps found in the last book of the Old Testament. This book is called the book of remembrance. Every time, girlfriends, that you and I talk about the Lord, every time we worship Him reverently and think on His Name, the occasion is recorded for all eternity. Have we added a page today in the most important memory book of all? Is there anything worthy of the Lord writing down that we have been involved in today to bring Him glory and honor for all eternity?
My question today is: How thick is my book of remembrance going to be when I stand before my God one day?

Oh, not as thick as it should be. But this is a good time to thicken it up!
I have a lot of time left to add to it from now on!
