We loved having Shawn speak at our women’s retreat. She was so personable and it was obvious that she loved talking to our women. She displayed such a spirit of humility as she opened God’s word to us and used stories from her own life to drive home biblical truths in a way that touched our hearts. I would highly recommend having Shawn speak at one of your events.
A fantastic look into the life of Joseph
This is an 8-week study (5 lessons a week) looking at the family and life of Joseph. If you are looking for a good Biblical view of forgiveness, with real-life examples from the Bible as well as from Shawn's experiences, this would be a great book for you!
However, I must also say that if you are not one that struggles with forgiveness issues, you still don't want to pass this one up! I learned a lot about Joseph and his family that made me realize how much each generation felt out of control of their situations in life, and how they each handled it. There are amazing examples of what NOT to do, but also how God was able to work His perfect plan through imperfect people; people that seemingly tried their best to mess up HIS plan, or at least take matters into their own hands instead of waiting on His timing. Then as you dig into the life of Joseph, you will see how he submitted to the Lord's program, even though it was definitely not easy and most of the time looked like God didn't have a plan at all.
If I had to summarize the theme of this study into one word it would be HOPE. If you feel you are lacking hope in your current situation, I think this book will show you the hope you can have in God's plan.
The icing on the cake is all the stories and examples from the Democratic Republic of Congo!
One of the most powerful I have ever done
I really wish to express to Shawn my gratitude for this study. It has been one of the most powerful I have ever done. I didn't even know that this study would be helpful because it is not just about jealousy. As Shawn says, it uncovers the many faces of jealousy and revealed mine to me. Opening up about our own hurts, habits, and sins allows the light of the Lord and His Word to begin to heal us.

Thank you for this enlightening study. I selfishly entered the study thinking I'd learn a lot about jealousy as its victim and shamefully realized I was its perpetrator. I have grown so much from your experiences and the verses you used to teach. I am so grateful to you because I would not have realized my poor choices and how I needed to change. I just came back to church
I came to this study after just coming back to church, after Satan and jealousy and unmet desires and questioning God was crushing me to death practically! I signed up for [Living With Unmet Desires] and I know I was meant to hear what God put in your heart to say.

Shawn has done it again!
Last year our Bible Study group used her first book in this series. This year we are using her second book. She is a very gifted writer in leading her readers through a greater understanding of how these Biblical characters' lives can help us understand problems and life lessons we are living through today in this world. Hope she is writing her third book as I type! Highly recommend both her books!
Freedom in Forgiveness!
After going through Shawn's first study on jealously we just couldn't wait to dig into this study about forgiveness. I love the story of Joseph and this study digs deep into the scriptures about the healing effects of forgiveness. Joseph had much to forgive. Many of us struggle in this area as well. It is so difficult to give up "our right to be angry". The problem is when we choose not to forgive we become prisoners. What freedom to let go and let God. We set the prisoner free finally realizing we were that prisoner. What an awesome study this was. Many hearts were touched. We loved it, we had awesome discussion and we learned so much from this study.

Shawn developed new material for our retreat
Shawn Lantz was the speaker at our Ladies Conference, “Wonderfully Made.” We knew of Shawn by doing both of her bible studies, “Living with Unmet Desires” and “Encountering the Healing Power of Forgiveness.” When I contacted Shawn about being our speaker, I was surprised that she was willing to write new material and cover a different topic. We had prayed about the theme as a team and decided upon insecurity. This is a difficult topic to cover but also very necessary. Shawn did an amazing job of teaching through characters in the bible and bringing them to life. She showed us practical ways to overcome our insecurities by being secure in Christ. She was very easy to work with, and easy to reach by phone, or email. Our ladies loved how real and vulnerable she was as a speaker. Authentic, Inviting, Inspiring, Engaging!
Authentic, Inviting, Inspiring, Engaging!! These are the adjectives I would use to describe Shawn. As our women's ministry team resourced potential speakers for a Saturday conference, we prayed for someone who taught in a way that would make God real and reachable to all ages of women. When we listened to one of Shawn's video interviews, we all had the same response: we want to hear more!
For weeks and months after the conference, we continued to hear from our women how God had ministered to them through Shawn's teaching...meeting them right where they were struggling with jealousy or unforgiveness.
Her warmth, love for God and His Word, and her deep insight made each of us excited to learn more from her teaching. Shawn was a delight to work with as we planned and prepared together. I have lead four different Bibles Studies using Shawn’s Bible Study, Living With Unmet Desires: Exposing the Many Faces of Jealousy. Every time I work through the study the women’s hearts and minds are transformed. The women learn to embrace scripture with a deeper understanding and are able to apply it to their lives with a conviction that all of us deal with the sin of jealousy in some way our lives.
