“Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward.
For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised.
For still a little while (a very little while), and the Coming One will come and He will not delay.” Hebrews 10:35-37 (Amplified Bible)
Okay, I just have to brag on my God today. I was just informed in the last twenty-four hours that something I have been pleading with Him in prayer over the last twelve months is starting to happen. I wish I could say that I wasn’t surprised. But I am…incredulous and bursting that He has proven once again to be faithful to His Word. I shouldn’t be surprised. After all, He said that He would come down, do what I did not expect, and make the mountain in front of me tremble. It has started to do that! He assured me that “…since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides [Him] who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him. (Isaiah 64:3-4) I thought the mountain was going to sit there forever. Although it may take a while until it is reduced to a pile of rubble, I cannot doubt that He has the power to make it into just that from seeing Him work this week. There have been tears and moments of doubt as I have waited for Him to start working on my behalf in this area.
He told me that He would cut through those bars of iron and break down those gates of bronze. (Isaiah 43:1-3) The situation I handed to Him was surely that impossible. A bulldozer and wrecking ball couldn’t have penetrated those impenetrable gates of bronze that are between the problem and its resolution. But He is doing the impossible right now and allowing me to witness the beginning cracks in those gates.
The price of faith has been great and too demanding, it has sometimes seemed over these months, to see this through spiritual eyes. My flesh and my heart have surely failed in the wait, Lord, but You have been the strength of my heart and my portion through all of it. (Psalm 73:26) And now I look forward to what not throwing away my fearless confidence in Your Word will do: the coming of the great and glorious reward that You have promised me.
Jesus, thank You that in a very little while You will come and You will not delay. Thank You for all that has been learned in the process of putting my confidence in Your Word. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. May I see perseverance’s full reward. I will obey You in this:
But, “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”
2 Corinthians 10:17
Jesus, I boast in You today!
