Some days I forget…
I was made for another world.
The reason I don’t fit in some places and some circles is because I am a stranger, an alien here.
I belong to a kingdom not of this world, invisible, but the only true kingdom there is.
This world will never be my home.
Homesickness is a good thing.
Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for those desires exists. A baby feels hunger: well, there is such a thing as food. A duckling wants to swim: well, there is such a thing as water…If I find in myself a desire, which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. – C.S. Lewis
If you woke up this morning with an unexplained longing that you could not put your finger on and you belong to Jesus, perhaps you are homesick today.
13 These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. 14 For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. 15 If they had been thinking of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.
Hebrews 11:13-16
Even so, Lord Jesus, come!
